Performing Arts

The performing arts benefit young people throughout their development by instilling in them a sense of self-esteem, competence and belonging. We offer programs throughout the year that inspire members to express themselves, learn new skills and make new friends with similar interests.

Performing arts programs include:

Dance Company: The Boys & Girls Club Dance Company offers classes for anyone 18 years of age and under, including toddlers. Classes offered include: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, acro and toddler. Solos, duos and trios are offered at the instructors discretion and auditions are required. All dancers receive a trophy at our annual dance recital. Fundraising opportunities are available throughout the year to help with costume expenses. For a complete schedule of classes and associated fees, please download our dance schedule and dance registration form.

Competitive Dance: Our dance competition team competes throughout the western part of the state multiple times each year. The dancers also perform at special Boys & Girls Club events and functions. The team is selected by our Cultural Enrichment Coordinator and Dance Instructor, Mallory Wray. Please call Mallory directly to inquire about the competitive dance program. 413-562-2301

Drama Club: open to Club members of all ages, Drama Club teaches various aspects of theatre through one act plays, set design activities and full length productions of plays and musicals. Currently, over 30 Club members are working on a production called "Musicville”. The final performance will happen in March of 2016.

Music Makers: Lessons are offered to members of all ages throughout the year on guitar and piano. We also have a drum circle program.

Chorus Club: Our Chorus Club meets weekly and is open to all Club members. In Chorus Club, members learn live performance skills, develop their vocal range and most importantly, have fun singing songs together.
